Action Institute for Communication Rights

September 25, 2006

Dear allies and colleagues,

This is the latest update from MAG-net and CIMA on developments in the emerging Organizing/Institute project that many of you contributed to through the planning survey and meeting. We are pleased to announce the evolution of the plans to create a movement-building program for social justice transformation of the media and communications system.

Thanks to those of you who came together in Boston on July 5th to share your insights and recommendations, questions and concerns, as well as to all those who completed the online survey. We recognize this was a significant investment of time and energy. Your wise, direct and thoughtful reflections on the needs and power dynamics in this field helped clarify the path for moving forward.
